What
is the KCBS - the Kansas City Barbecue Society?
Whether you call it BBQ, Bar-B-Que
or Barbecue - the KCBS (Kansas City Barbecue Society) is dedicated to
the promotion of and enjoyment of barbecue. The KCBS is the largest
organization of barbecue (BBQ) and grilling enthusiasts in the world.
There are more than 14,000 professional members around the world and almost 300 sanctioned BBQ contests
within the United States. A hallmark of the organization is that KCBS
members are known for volunteering for various tasks, organizing events
and competitions as well as offering assistance to civic and charitable
organizations - many of whom on their own put together KCBS sanctioned
events.

Think of KCBS as a clearing house for the world of BBQ, information and
everything else. KCBS provides an association for networking with
related trade associations, other contest-sanctioning organizations,
products and equipment. KCBS teams up with other food organizations and
media to promote barbecue. There is also an extensive library and
archive of barbecue related articles, educational programs, consultation
services and presentations - all to help promote and educate regarding
barbecue - arguably America's Favorite Cuisine. Thanks for the help
KCBS! The Pepsi Wyoming BBQ and Bluegrass Festival is happy to be
sanctioned by the KCBS!
